USS Tamerlane is a Star Trek Fan Comic written by G.S.Davis. Based on the concept of "Star Trek: The Rest of the Federation", it is the story of the Destroyer, USS Tamerlane (NCC-510) and her captain, Julienne Cochrane.

Because this issue was a quick write-up and test - it was released between April 1-19 - it was classed as an Omake (Oh-Mah-Kay) which is a Japanese word for 'extra' or 'side-story' in Japanese manga.

The second Omake - 12 pages released between Apr 30 - May 11, 2008 - was published in a "Storybook" style, with text worked artfully around full-page illustrations.

The Champion

Tamerlane, on routine patrol, comes across a derelict Orion Slaver. When Cochrane and her crew beam aboard, they find something that could threaten the security of her ship and crew and perhaps the entire Federation.

In the STEU article, the creator, who goes by the online handle aabh, said, "Originally planned as a seven-issue arc, 'The Champion' ultimately became its own episode based on a singular moral quandary as its premise. "The Champion" is currently scheduled to be three issues long (120 pages), with issue one released on February 14th, 2008. Issues two and three will follow in August and December, respectively."
On the current website, in it's finished form, the comic is 170 pages long and starts off with a colour cover, preface & 9 page prologue, which make up pages 0 to 11.
'Part 1' starts at http://www.gsdavisart.com/comic/champion-page-012 , "p.12" and finishs with "p.53". It was released daily between Oct 01 - Nov 21, 2008.
'Act 1', is 20 pages long, starting from p.54 and finishing on p.73, being released between Nov 22 - Dec 11, 2008.
'Act 2', is 21 pages long (some double page spreads), starting from p.74 and finishing on p.94, being released between Dec 12, 2008 - Jan 01, 2009.
'Act 3', is 43 pages long (some of them double page spreads), starting from p.95 and finishing on p.137, being released between Jan 02 - Feb 11, 2009.
'Act 4', is 21 pages long (some of them double page spreads), starting from p.138 and finishing on p.159, being released between Feb 12 - Mar 02, 2009.
'Epilogue', is 11 pages long, starting from p.160 and finishing on p.170, being released between Mar 03 - Mar 13, 2009.

G.S.Davis released 63 pages of this incomplete issue, including two recap pages, between Dec 14, 2015 and Nov 11, 2017 when it went into hiatus.
