The Captain has been absolved of wrong doing, the ship has been repaired, and the re-launch is only hours away. Now, when the Captain (Commodore Grissom) finds that he is riddled with self doubts and guilt, he receives help from a very unlikely place.

We had written the script for our first episode, “Haunted” and were prepared to shoot it in mid-January 2014.  But when it was discovered that most of us were attending Farragut Fest in December of 2013, we decided to do a one day shoot during that weekend. Frank Parker Jr. Said he wanted a script similar to the Starship Farragut Vignette, “Just Passing Through.” (https://youtu.be/YKI26MaRN4E) It would be a short, simple scene in which the crew assembles and gets to know each other a bit. As the writer, I wanted to add a bit of mystery and intrigue so I added the scene at the beginning in which Admiral Bennett informs Commodore Grissom that he has been cleared of any fault in the investigation into the “Cromwell Nebula Incident.” She then gives him his launch orders, and advises him to be ready for a sensitive mission sometime in the future. So, immediately after Farragut Fest 2013, we shot this short film. [David Wren]

Originally released as episode 03 of Starship Valiant, a crossover with Dreadnought Dominion, which has been re-released as a Constar Chronicles backstory by from No Budget Productions. In the log, a new commander, a very green Captain Brousseau, makes the tough choice of his second in command with the help of Engineer Minard. Takes place 2 months after Haunted / Anchor's Aweigh.
